Book Club: Politics is Personal reads Pachinko by Min Jin Lee

Join bookseller Shilpa as she leads a monthly discussion group on the intersection of politics and our reading lives. We'll be reading literature, mostly international and women-writers, that allows us to discuss our relationships to politics and culture Haven’t finished the book? No problem. The book is a jumping off point to create a welcoming space for dialogue. Shilpa will always invite a guest co-leader who is an authority on a topic relating to each month’s choice.

The group’s first book is the award winning and much beloved Pachinko which chronicles the diaspora of a Korean family in America. This month’s guest is Deb Sevigny, a Playwright who currently works as a Designer and Assistant Professor of Scenic and Costume Design  at George Mason University.
